CONGRATULATIONS to the Celtic Volleyball team for their 2008 Class 3 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. On Friday the Lady Celtics defeated St. Dominic's (25-12; 25-15), split with Logan-Rogersville (25-19; 24-26), and beat Ste. Genevieve (25-12; 25-9) to finish 5-1 in pool play. O'Hara faced Logan-Rogersville in the Championship match on Saturday and revenged their only tournament game loss by beating the Wildcats 25-19; 25-19 to claim the 2008 state title for the second year in a row. Tori Hurtt finished the tournament with 71 kills followed by Michala Boehm with 34. Lindsey Hanaway dished out 107 assists and Katie Huber led the defense with 49 digs as well as stellar passing. For their efforts, Hurtt and Boehm were chosen as First Team All-State selections. In addition, Hanaway and Huber received Second Team All-State honors.
